Acts of repentance

What side are you on? That is the question Jesus is asking in Luke 13:1-8. Are you on the side of right or wrong? The right side leads to eternal life, while the wrong side leads to destruction. Jesus' message is simple: all you have to do is repent of your sins in order to have new life. If you don't repent, then you will perish. God does not desire to cut us down, but rather He loves us and desires us to bear fruit. What fruit are you bearing in your life currently? What sins do you need to repent of in order to start bearing the kind of fruit God desires?

HAVE WE REPENTED?

What does it mean to repent?

If you have been nicking paper at work, and you no longer do it because you no longer work in that department, does that constitute repentance?

If you have come out of an unchristian relationship because of relocation, or because you have been dumped, does that constitue repentance?

What does it mean to repent?

I believe repentance is a decision. One that you make internally to change and depend on the grace of God. It is a lifestyle change. You have a vision of your changing or having a life without that certain disobedience and doing more in the spirit to change which enevitably will conform the soul the mind and thus the body.

This involves being honest with yourself and sometimes sharing your struggles with someone else. This can be helpful as there can be someone interceding for you and standing in AGREEMENT of this change.

One of the comandments is that you shall have no other God before Me. I f we develop a mentality that there is more than just ourselves to take into consideration i.e God and the spiritual mentality of our loved ones.

And finally WHILST WE MUST NOT HATE OURSELVES WE MUST LEARN TO DISLIKE AND REBUKE THE SIN FROM OUR LIVES.
