“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”
Matthew 11:28

Life is not a summer camp but a battlefield full of struggles.

In this long and hard journey, you may be distressed and tired. Maybe you are groaning under the weight of a virtual steamroller of anguish, and you just do not know what to do.

Jesus says, “Do not despair; come to me.”

He is your refuge, and he invites you to a refreshing time of trust and fellowship.

He can relieve you of that heavy burden, remove grief from your heart, and heal your wounds.

He invites you to share a personal experience: “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”

Jesus’ command is for you: “Take my yoke upon you and learn from me.” To do this requires a commitment to submit and learn.

Jesus even repeats his promise to you: not only does he say, “I will give you rest,” but he also says, “You will find rest” for your soul.

Do not walk hunched over under the weight of despair. Turn to Jesus, because he has the power to relieve you of your burdens and carry you in his omnipotent arms.

Always remember that the Son of God is our only true refuge.

Jesus our Refuge Empty
PostSubject: Meekness, Lowliness and Rest   Jesus our Refuge EmptyThu Dec 15, 2011 6:50 pm

In this sweet passage, Jesus says we should learn of him.

Matthew 11:29
29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.

This is one of the few places where Jesus says we should become like him. He says the more we become like him, the more rest we will find. Rest amongst others means, peace, success, satisfaction and contentment, happiness, grace. THE SEARCHING AND YEARNING receives 'bread'.

To be like me, Jesus says, is to become humble and not self-seeking. It means to be more interested in spiritual things. To become like him is to do away with high-mindedness and inflated egos. To be simple at heart with a genuine love for God and the brethren. It also means to be leadable and teachable.

Dear church, my prayer is that his grace will abound towards all who desire to take on this mantle of Christ. May it include you.

God richly bless us all.

Indeed.....He said we should learn from Him. A wise man never stops learning but increases in knowledge.
Give it all to Him and He will give you rest. His yoke is easy and His burden is light.
These words of a song encourages a lot.......
The name of the Lord is
A strong tower
The righteous run into
And they are safe
